WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Bunker Hill Middle School students and staff shone like the sun on a beautiful afternoon, taking to the school grounds for the third annual Bulldog Walk in honor of World Down Syndrome Day on Friday, March 20, 2026.

The whole school was encouraged to “Rock Your Socks” and participate in a walk around the school grounds. Any student or staff member who donated $10 received a T-shirt designed by BHMS Art teacher Mike Murro and were treated to a snack, drink, music, and a photo booth after the walk. The event was coordinated by students and staff of the BHMS specialized programs, Team Up Club, and Bulldog Ambassadors.

World Down Syndrome Day (WDD) is observed every year, on March 21st (3/21), to signify the triplication, or trisomy, of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down Syndrome. WDD aims to raise awareness about Down Syndrome, promote inclusion, and celebrate the lives of individuals with Down Syndrome.
